The Big Day

Of course since Cas turned eight he was baptized. Now this was an extra special day for him because he wasn't only baptized but it was also the big day of his play. Just after we moved to Grantsville I saw a sign on the side of the road for a Drama class. Anyone that knows Cas knows that this is right up his alley. We signed him up and he has been in it ever since. He LOVES it!!! He is pretty good too!

Cas and Dad just before the big event!!

The giant birthday cake!
I went to the little grocery store here in Grantsville and said that I wanted a cupcake cake.
They asked me how big.
I said 24 cupcakes would be great!
There were over 40 cupcakes used to make this cake!!!!

The Cousins!

Waiting for the play to begin!
The amazing thing is that this is 3 five year olds and 2 three year olds.
I thought we were crazy for letting them sit up there by themselves.
The crazy thing was that they sat there QUIETLY for the entire show!!!
I was very grateful that most of Travis' family just hung out after the baptism and came to Cas' play. So did Aunt Jessica and Uncle Jordan. It is so wonderful to have family support my kids. They already know their mom and dad are proud of them!!

The play was "The Elves and the Shoemaker"
Cas was Johann the shoemaker
This is him and his wife Frieda dancing for Joy!
Of course right as they were done dancing and Johann was walking over to return to his work he whispers "I HATE that part!!!!!" Problem was that he had a microphone on so it wasn't so silent. But it was hilarious!!

Isn't he priceless!

The final call when the sang "We Wish You a Merry Christmas"

The Big Eight

Yes my oldest finally turned eight. We have been waiting for this day for eight years!!! This was the little family party we had on his actual birthday! Yes that pink with purple glitter crown is his. His school teacher makes them a crown and lets them pick the colors! Get it out while you are young is what I say!!

Of course in a family with little kids. Everyone gets to blow the candle out!

Thanks to the help of uncle Robbies family and Aunt Marlene's awesome after Thanksgiving shopping, Cas got a Nintendo DS for his birthday. His cousin Grant has one and he has been asking for one for awhile but I wasn't sure if I wanted to bring the "evil" thing into our house!! It has been fun but I do have to remind them to turn it off and go to bed!

Updating

It is very sad for me to see that I haven't posted forever. I have been kind of busy!! I wonder why! Here are some updates:

This is the two children left at home all day. This is what they call having a party!! I call it messing up my house when I am downstairs working! I was glad that I stopped a moment and took a breath and then I took pictures.

CRAZY!!

Is it just me or does anyone else have anxiety about Barak Obama winning. My second grader came home from school today and said they were talking about the elections. Their teacher told them that they could express their feelings if there was something that they didn't like about the candidates running. He said one girl said if Barak won we would all have to move to Italy and if we didn't we would be killed. Another girl said that if he won they would go around killing little kids. Now I know these girls got these ideas from listening to their parents and not quite getting what they were saying but all I have to say on this somber day is that I am grateful I have my religon!!!

My Families First

On UEA weekend we had a family first. Not a good first of course. We had the lovely opportunity to take our baby to get stiches. None of my boys have ever had stiches because fo a fall. Tuhker got them after his ear surgery but he was knocked out. Go figure that the first one would be my daughter!! The pictures isn't that great but she got about 8 stiches. The best part was going to get them. We were in Grover and she got hurt on the 4-wheeler. They brought her in the house and of course Travis was no where to be found. We told the rest of the children to get off the 4 wheelers and stay in the house because Travis' mom was going to go with me and there were no other adults around. We drove to the clinic about 20 minutes away in Bicknell and of course my daughter would not let me put a rag on her head so blood was dripping down her face. They got us back in the room and Travis showed up. Him and his dad had come back to the house to get something and the kids told him we took Adela in because she got hurt on the 4 wheeler. He was thinking the worst and was glad to see it was only stiches. When the doctor saw how out of control she was she decided to orally sedate her. The went to the dentist who is in the same clinic to ask him how (go figure, small town). She didn't end up taking all the medicine because she spit part of it out. This is how they had to do the stiches. They wrap her in a blanket and two nurses held her body down while Travis put one hand on her head and one under her chin to try to keep her head still. I sat in the waiting room listening to her scream for 30 minutes!!!! All in all, not my favorite first!!!

What Happened to My Baby Girl?

My Adela Kay Mulford
(thanks Cas for the nice bunny ears in my cute picture. Go figure!)
As most of you know my baby girl was a wonderful suprise for us. I always wanted a girl and got three boys. We thought we were done and the Lord gave us a blessing. Well the last two weeks all I can think is Where has my baby girl gone? She is growing up way to fast!!!
Today we were doing a traditional making of the haunted house and she was having a blast just trying to help the boys out. She would follow their every move and it was so cute.
There was great concentration to make sure she got it in just the right spot!!!

I just can't believe that my baby is 2 and growing up so much every day. She hasn't really seen her dad in over two weeks and today she said "Dad come home now?" She asks me this alot unfortunately but it amazes me that she thinks like that. She is also starting to show a lot of personality. She is a goof ball!!!
